Apprentice Program (Paid Training)

Responsibilities:

• Travel to job sites in the service area, and work with dispatch to ensure the schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to the customer.
• Diagnosing issues with and repairing residential garage doors, openers, and other garage door components.
• Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with all Ideal Garage standards.
• Clearly communicate to the homeowner the issue and what we can do to fix it through the utilization of our digital analysis

• Identify, report, and educate the homeowner on potential opportunities for additional business

• Performing physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and installing garage doors, garage door openers, moving and lifting other heavy objects and often climbing on a ladder while working.

Qualifications:

• No Experience Required
• 21+ years of age
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
• Good driving record and current valid driver’s license
• Must comply with Ideal standards – clean cut, uniforms, etc.

Work Behavior:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders, work from heights.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, rain, snow, or sleet
• Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, stoop on a frequent basis for extended periods of time
• Must be able to communicate effectively, problem solve, critically think, and be mechanically inclined
• Must be able to drive a company vehicle for extended periods of time
• Must be able to complete repetitive hand movements such as grasping, pushing, pulling, twisting, and turning for extended periods of time
• Must be able to speak to customers in person and over the phone

Working Conditions

• Typical working hours range between 35-55 hours/week
• Rotating emergency shifts
• Rotating weekend shifts
